Our History
Before there was Bee Banquet, there was Hendley Honey Farm. Hendley Honey Farm was founded over 40 years ago in Marion, North Carolina and provides the area with honey, honey bees, quality queens, and training for beginner bee keepers. The operation has found it's success and sustainability over the years through continued development and experimentation of new techniques to keep bee colonies alive and healthy year round. Its progressive practice of annually re-queening every colony with daughter queens from the best performing colonies has continued to improve bee genetics and developed the bees into superior colonies.
The Bee Banquet was designed and tested on Hendley Honey Farm with the farm’s original mission in mind: to continue improving the lives and well-being of honey bees.
Honey bees pollinate one third of all food that humans eat and we want to keep it that way. Our goal is to challenge the public to assist in helping keep honey bees alive by using community bee feeders. In addition to keeping bees nourished and healthy, the Bee Banquet feeder also prevents colony robbing when nectar flows are weak or missing.
We are passionate about giving the world a way to help save the bees!
Our Team
Bee Banquet is operated by bee-lovers Bill Hendley and Renee Halloran. In their free time, Bill and Renee love spending time in Folly Beach, SC. They participate in community events, explore the coastal surroundings, and enjoy outdoor recreational activities. Their experiences in Folly Beach contribute to a sense of joy and fulfillment. They are very excited to help the environment by encouraging community bee feeding!
